At either Calgary Acupuncture clinic, the treatment approach of acupuncture is the most well known therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine sterile needles into specific points of the body. Along with relief of a condition, most people experience relaxation, increased vitality, or a sense of well-being from the acupuncture treatments. Acupuncture is a gentle procedure. Acupuncture needles may not be felt at all on insertion or there might be a mild sensation followed by tingling, heaviness or warmth around the needle. There is a saying in Chinese Medicine:
“When there is obstruction, there is pain.
When there is no obstruction, there is no pain.”
Acupuncture works by removing obstructions in the flow of energy within the body.
Many people live with conditions because they believe there is nothing more that can be done for them. Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine can succeed in alleviating many of these conditions. If you would like to know whether or not Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in our Calgary Acupuncture clinics could help you, Christopher Munstermann is available for a courtesy consultation in person or by phone, as time permits.
Traditional Chinese Medicine in Calgary
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a well established and complete medical system that restores and maintains a body in its natural state of balance. The mind body and spirit are considered to be inseparable, and for a person to be healthy, all three aspects must be in balance with each other and their environment (the world in which we live). Losing harmony is the first step in developing a disease. TCM is excellent at restoring balance to prevent the progression of a disease.
Chinese Medicine treats the full range of human diseases. A few examples of conditions that can be treated with TCM are; hay fever, allergies, asthma, headaches, injuries, gynecological disorders, autoimmune disorders, insomnia, arthritis and dermatological diseases. It is particularly useful for treating the early stages of a disease or conditions for which modern medicine has no effective treatment.
Traditional Chinese Medicine encompasses a wide variety of therapies, all of which are used in our Calgary clinics. They include; acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, Chinese medicinal herbs, nutritional and lifestyle counseling, and needleless auricular therapy.
