What is an Athletic Therapist

An Athletic Therapist in Canada is a Certified Member of the Canadian Athletic Therapist Association (CATA), and is referred to as a Certified Athletic Therapist (Canada) or CAT (C).

An Athletic Therapist works in multiple different settings including on-field and clinic settings.

A Certified Athletic Therapist assesses musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, uses contemporary rehabilitation, supportive taping and bracing procedures, as well as injury education to promote an environment that is ideal for optimal healing, and to allow individuals to reintegrate into a healthy active lifestyle.

Cory Cameron, B.Kin,. Adv. Cert. A.T., CAT (C)

Cory’s experience with athletes and athletic individuals over the past 9 years as an Athletic Trainer and Athletic Therapist has lead him to expanding from strictly team oriented work to a clinical work as an Athletic Therapist. Cory’s experience includes one year in the BCHL with the Trail Smoke Eaters, six years in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen and the Vancouver Giants, where he was part of the 2007 Memorial Cup championship team, as well his experience includes multiple Hockey Canada and BC Hockey team commitments.

Cory’s strengths as an an Athletic THerapist include, but are not limited to, assessment, immediate care, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries, exercise rehabilitation, supportive taping, as well as prevention of injuries through postural evaluation, amd muscle imbalance evaluation.

Cory’s experience working with Crash Conditioning over the past seven years, has allowed him to work with a large number of elite athletes and enjoys using skills and techniques that apply to athletes with all of his clients, working toward return to daily activities through active rehabilitation.

  • Initial Assessment: $85.00, approx. 60 minutes
  • 30 minute Clinical Treatment session: $55.00
  • 45 minute Exercisee Rehab session: $60.00
  • 60 minute Exercise Rehab session: $75.00
