Influenced by his active lifestyle, Dr. Hoover’s treatment approach combines traditional treatment with the latest soft-tissue techniques and exercise rehabilitation, giving patients the skills to reduce their risk of future injury.

As a Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Dr. Hoover uses his personal training experience in his practice, helping patients incorporate rehabilitation exercises into their daily routine in an enjoyable and easy manner. As a registered Active Release Techniques (ART) Provider, he also uses this latest type of therapy to treat many spinal and non-spinal conditions.

Dr. Hoover is currently working at Back & Body Health’s Altadore/Marda Loop location on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Dr. Hoover is also at our Fitness Centre location on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Dr. Madhu P. Brar-Hayer

Dr. Brar-Hayer’s lifelong interest in athletics has led to her strong belief in the treatment and prevention of injuries. She believes that with proper treatment of these ailments, in addition to education and guidance, an individual's optimal level of health and satisfaction can achieved. As a registered Active Release Techniques Provider, she also uses this latest type of therapy to treat many spinal and non-spinal conditions.

Dr. Brar-Hayer is currently working at Back & Body Health’s Altadore/Marda Loop location on Tuesdays thru Saturdays.

Julie Popadynetz
RMT

Julie graduated in 2002 from the 2,200-hour program at Foothills College of Massage Therapy. She brings a variety of techniques to her therapeutic, pre-natal and relaxation massage treatments.

In her free time, Julie plays, coaches and umpires field hockey year-round. She also enjoys spending time outdoors and with family and friends.

Julie is currently working at Back & Body Health’s Altadore/Marda Loop location every Monday & Friday and alternate Wednesday and Saturday. Julie also is at our Fitness Centre location on Tuesday.

Corey Batt
RMT

Corey graduated from the Foothills College of Massage Therapy and his schooling has provided him the ability to treat many conditions by utilizing a variety of Massage techniques. Over the years his treatment approach has focused upon deep tissue and therapeutic massage.

Prior to his career in Massage Therapy his work in the construction industry allowed him to travel throughout Western Canada. In his spare time Corey enjoys taking part in a number of outdoor sports and activities.

Corey is currently working at Back & Body Health’s Altadore/Marda Loop location on Tuesdays, Thursdays and alternate Wednesdays and Saturdays. Corey also is at our Fitness Centre location on Mondays and Friday.

Chantelle Brown
RMT

Chantelle is a graduate of the Mount Royal College Massage Therapy Program and is also BPE graduate from University of Calgary. She incorporates her knowledge of anatomy and physiology and biomechanics into her therapeutic and relaxation massage treatments. As a competitive athlete in the past in sports such as speed skating, running and mountain biking she tries to transfer this knowledge and understanding of sports into her treatments.

Chantelle enjoys staying active with her husband and 2 yr old daughter biking and camping.

Chantelle is currently on maternity leave.

Shanelle Prasad
RMT

Shanelle graduated from Mount Royal’s Massage Therapy Program in 2005 and uses a variety of techniques to treat many conditions. Working frequently with dancers, runners, and other athletes, she incorporates anatomy and physiology knowledge into her treatments.

Outside of work, Shanelle enjoys taking part in yoga, rollerblading, and tennis and spending time outside whenever the sun is shining.

Danielle Bourassa
RMT

Danielle graduated from the Alberta School of Massage Training in 2008 after taking the 2200 hour program in Fort McMurray. Her skill set includes a certificate in Swedish Relaxation Massage and a variety of theraputic and deep tissue techniques. These include treatment of the fascia and pre-natal massage.

Danielle believes in working with her clients to achieve their health goals, both short term and long term. In her spare time she likes to read and keep active.

Danielle is currently working at Back & Body Health’s Altadore/Marda Loop location on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Dionne Hemsley
BA, Dip. ST

Dionne Hemsley is a graduate of the Shiatsu School of Canada, which offers a 2200 hour program. She has been practicing since 2002 after completing her studies.

Many of her clients have sought treatment for digestive complains, hormonal imbalances, respiratory difficulties as well as neck, shoulder, and back pain and stiffness.

In her spare time, Dionne belly dances and is currently undergoing a yoga teacher training program.

Dionne is currently working at Back & Body Health’s Altadore/Marda Loop location on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Nolan Griffin

Nolan was born and raised in Calgary, where he graduated from Mount Royal University in 2008. Since graduating he has worked at various spa's and clinics around the city. Nolan uses an array of relaxation and therapeutic massage techniques to efficiently break down chronic pain patterns in the body.

In his free time Nolan enjoys leading an active lifestyle taking any chance to get outside. Nolan is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing everything from tennis to soccer.

Gina Chevalier
Dipl Kin, RMT

Gina Chevalier recently relocated to Calgary from Vancouver Island where she operated her own successful massage and bodywork practice for the past ten years and spent her summers as a contract fitness trainer, massage therapist and a hiking guide in the beautiful coastal mountains.

Gina has always been fascinated by human movement, sports medicine and healing. As a former tri athlete, bodybuilder and dancer she brings forth a vast knowledge and experience to her practice. With combined training at MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy, The British Columbia Institute of Holistic Studies, a university diploma in kinesiology and various massage certifications, she is excited to be a part of the Back and Body Health team.

In her spare time she is outdoors with her dog and enjoys mountain sports, running, surfing, cycling and dancing.

Gina is currently working at Back & Body Health Fitness Centre location on Wednesdays through Saturdays.

Chris Munstermann
R.Ac., TCM Dipl.

Chris was introduced to Chinese medicine at a young age, as a part of the search for answers to the health concerns he was experiencing. After becoming fascinated with the philosophy of Chinese medicine, Chris took the opportunity to further his education at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, graduating in 2005 with a Diploma in Acupuncture and a Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

While in school, he developed a keen interest in athletics and sports injuries, and has worked with Olympic athletes from both the United States and Canada. Chris also has a personal interest in learning difficulties and digestive issues, and in the psychology of health.

Chris is an avid proponent of living a healthy lifestyle, enjoying yoga, hiking, climbing, photography and cooking. A long-time volunteer with the Calgary Stampede Caravan Committee, Chris helps put on free Stampede Breakfasts across Calgary during Stampede. The rest of his free time is spent writing, listening to music, learning to play the bass guitar, and exploring his spirituality.
